Celestial Tarot (“the app”) is made by Celestial Interactive LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what control you have over it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to make the app work, we show only non-personalized ads to people who haven’t earned a deck of their own, we don’t track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your information.

Information we collect

An anonymous account. When you first open the app, we automatically create an anonymous account with a random identifier. This lets your saved readings sync to our servers without requiring a name, email address, or password. This identifier is not connected to your identity.

A device identifier for your first deck. Celestial Tarot gives every new user a deck, and which deck you receive is determined by a random identifier stored on your device. We store a scrambled (hashed) version of that identifier with your account so that reinstalling the app returns the same deck to you, and so the same device cannot repeatedly claim gifts meant for new users. It is not used for advertising and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Saved readings and notes. When you choose to save a reading to your Journal, we store the cards drawn, the reading topic, the result, the interpretation text, and the date, associated with your account, on our servers. If you add personal notes to a saved reading, those notes are stored the same way; they are private to your account and are never used for anything except showing them back to you. Free readings (Yes/No and Three-Card) you don’t save are generated on your device and never leave it; the premium AI readings described below reach our servers whether or not you save them.

Deck gifts. If you send or open a gift deck, we store a record of the gift‚ who sent it, which deck, when, and who opened it‚ so the gift can be delivered once and the giver can be thanked with a deck of their own.

Sign in with Apple (optional). If you sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier Apple provides and, if you choose to share it, your email address (which may be Apple’s private relay address). Signing in links your existing saved readings to your Apple identity so they can be restored on a new device.

Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. We receive a record of your subscription status (active or not) so the app can unlock premium features. We use a subscription-management provider to process this status.

AI readings (Clarify and the Celtic Cross). These premium readings are generated by a third-party AI provider rather than from content stored in the app. When you use them, the names of the cards drawn, the reading topic, the result, and any optional question or context you choose to type are sent to our servers, which forward them to our AI provider to generate the interpretation. The AI provider processes this data on our behalf and does not receive your name or contact information. We do not use what you type to train AI models, and our AI provider is not permitted to use it to train its models either.

Any text you type is also screened automatically for harmful content before a reading is generated. Please don’t include information in these fields that you wouldn’t want processed by an AI service‚ it isn’t needed for a good reading.

No one reads your readings. Interpretations are generated automatically, and the screening described above is automated as well. Our staff do not read your questions, notes, or readings in the ordinary course, and nothing you write in the app is monitored by a person or forwarded to anyone who can respond. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, in the United States), the app cannot help you in an emergency.

Advertising. People using the Borrowed Deck‚ the starter deck we lend you until a deck of your own is given to you‚ are shown a short video ad periodically. These ads are served by Google AdMob. We request non-personalized ads only, which means ads are not targeted using a profile of your interests or behavior. To serve, cap, and protect against fraudulent ads, Google still receives technical information such as your device type, general location derived from IP address, and an ad identifier. Google’s handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). You will never see ads once you own a deck.

Technical and diagnostic information. Our servers record ordinary technical information when the app contacts them (for example, the time of a request and how many AI readings an account has requested in the past hour) so we can enforce fair-use limits and keep the service running.

What we don’t do

  • No personalized or behavioral advertising, and no advertising profile of you
  • No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt because we don’t do it
  • No sale or rental of your information‚ ever, to anyone
  • No data collection from the free readings you don’t save: Yes/No and Three-Card interpretations are generated from content bundled in the app, entirely on your device

The hosting, AI, and subscription providers above act as our service providers under agreements that require them to protect your information and to use it only to provide services to us, to at least the standard described in this policy. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the service.

Where the app is offered, and where your data lives

Celestial Tarot is currently offered only in the United States, and this policy is written for U.S. users.

Saved readings and account records are stored with our hosting provider on servers located in the United States. Access is restricted so that each account can only ever read its own data.

Retention and deletion

  • You can delete any saved reading in the app at any time; deletion is immediate and permanent.
  • You can delete your entire account and all associated data from Settings in the app. This permanently removes your account record, every saved reading and note, and your deck and gift records.
  • Technical records used for fair-use limits are short-lived and are removed with your account.
  • If you never save a reading and never sign in, the only stored records are your anonymous account identifier and the hashed device identifier described above.

Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can see the data we hold about you by opening your Journal and Settings in the app, and you can delete all of it from Settings. If you’d like a copy of your data in another form, or have any other request about your information, email support@celestial-apps.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.

Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws have rights to know, delete, and correct their personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Age and children

Celestial Tarot is intended for adults and older teens. You must be at least 16 years old to use the app, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. The app is not directed to children, and our advertising is configured as not child-directed. If you believe someone under 16 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
