Celestial Tarot (“the app”) is made by Celestial Interactive LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what control you have over it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to make the app work, we don’t run ads, we don’t track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your information.
Information we collect
An anonymous account. When you first open the app, we automatically create an anonymous account with a random identifier. This lets your saved readings sync to our servers without requiring a name, email address, or password. This identifier is not connected to your identity.
Saved readings and notes. When you choose to save a reading to your Journal, we store the cards drawn, the reading topic, the result, the interpretation text, and the date, associated with your account, on our servers. If you add personal notes to a saved reading, those notes are stored the same way; they are private to your account and are never used for anything except showing them back to you. Readings you don’t save are generated on your device and never leave it.
Sign in with Apple (optional). If you sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier Apple provides and, if you choose to share it, your email address (which may be Apple’s private relay address). Signing in links your existing saved readings to your Apple identity so they can be restored on a new device.
Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. We receive a record of your subscription status (active or not) so the app can unlock premium features. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to process this status.
Clarify requests (premium feature). When you use Clarify, the names of the cards drawn, the reading topic, the result, and any optional context you choose to type (for example, a sentence about your situation) are sent to our servers, which forward them to an AI provider (OpenAI) to generate the interpretation. OpenAI processes this data on our behalf and does not receive your name or contact information. Don’t include information in the context field that you wouldn’t want processed by an AI service — it isn’t needed for a good reading.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites
- No sale or rental of your information — ever
- No data collection from the free readings you don’t save: Yes/No and Three-Card interpretations are generated from content bundled in the app, entirely on your device
Where your data lives
Saved readings and account records are stored with Supabase, our hosting provider, on servers located in the United States. Access is restricted so that each account can only ever read its own data.
Retention and deletion
- You can delete any saved reading in the app at any time; deletion is immediate and permanent.
- You can delete your entire account and all associated data from Settings in the app. This permanently removes your account record and every saved reading.
- If you never save a reading and never sign in, the only stored record is the anonymous account identifier itself.
Children
Celestial Tarot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
